. >> the california highway patrol did a maximum enforcement carry it. they had additional patrol and they really some numbers for their first day of what they call their maximum enforcement. which started wednesday as 6:00 p.m.. so far, the highway patrol says the statewide eight people have been killed in fatal collisions this year. chp also says that 262 people have been arrested for driving under the influence. lacher, there were three fatalities and 267 drivers who were charged with d.u.i. eyes. here in the bay area, there have been no fatal accidents and 50 d u i arrest. that's this year. in 2011, there were also no fatalities and 39 people were charged with driving under the influence. a family in vallejo is looking for the driver, who they said is responsible for killing their grandmother. 88 year-old clementine the few men is died after a hit- and-run accidents. last friday, they really woman was walking home from the store, just a few blocks from her house. that is when the family says, a gold colored car hit her, while she was in the crosswalk, and then drove off. the family wonders if the
